I like to solve problems and have always been intrigued by the why and the how; been taking things apart (and re-assembling them!) ever since I can remember. My fascination was always with analyzing how something can be made more efficient, and see it evolve.
Thus, my goal with thirtyseven was to elevate web development expectations by tackling hard challenges with custom solutions; my strength has always been being able to see projects as whole entities - utilizing an analytical and creatively technical process to cover every perspective.
I'm happy to be in a field where I'm always learning and adapting to the unknown. As such I feel that I have separated myself from run-of-the-mill, cookie cutter 'developers.' My process of starting with a strong foundation and then progressively building - knowing how and where everything works best - allows me to think and build as an engineer should, not only to create viable solutions but also to write standards compliant, reliable code I am proud to put my name to.
Recently, I have come to see that what I was and am trying to achieve can be summed up in a simple term; software engineer. It's therefore is not meant to be a business; it is a role I aim to fulfill.
You are a programmer of the highest calibre, exceedingly patient, and never said 'no.' ... Thank you for mining through the rat's nest that was our previous site, and giving us and our viewers a site that is so deserved. You rock.Adam Mazerall, Editor in Chief, WomensPost magazine
I'm very pleased with this - well done ... We're looking good Laszlo - you've worked your magic!Principal, Cameron Douglas Plus Associates
Wow! The site looks fabulous Laszlo. Here's the funny thing. After a few minutes, it feels like the site has always been this way. I hope that's a compliment about the design feeling natural and being easy to navigate ... Again, I'm ecstatic!Promod Sharma

I was responsible for a complete re-design from scratch. This included a full design and interface overhaul of the site's three main areas - the public site, the members' portfolio and vendors' CMS. I collaborated with the developers responsible for the server side programming, utilizing the Dojo Toolkit primarily for the interface elements. Side notes include landing pages, optimizing the sign-up process and the user search experience, et al.

My input helped mature Promod's online marketing campaign from its roots to what it is now. This consisted of four site templates, three blogs and Twitter backgrounds. Both professionally and personally, I am impressed with how Promod does marketing right - and for the right reasons.

This project is a good representation of a simple and effective landing page consisting of a Flash animation and a light sprinkling of JavaScript. My objective was to reflect CDPA's professional attitude within the new medium.

Initially I was called in to Women's Post for a basic site update, which turned rapidly into a full-scale rescue mission. I coaxed the Drupal site and its database (affectionately referred to internally as 'Frankenstein') back to health, and implemented a full interface update. I also managed their email campaigns.

Was responsible for bi-weekly emails, flash banners, and a 'Welcome to Rogers Internet' microsite that accompanied the emails. Depending on the project, this required CSS/XHtml encoding of provided designs, or designing and coding industry-standard Flash banners, based on the RogersYahoo!'s marketing guidelines and standards of quality.

what's up with the name thirtyseven?
There are many different answers to this question, but the one I'm sticking to is the following; my initials, 'L' and 'E', when flipped around they roughly take the form of the numbers '3' and '7'... Written out as 'thirty seven', it is a way for me to be able to put my signature on work I'm proud of - and balance a close, yet separated relationship between my work and my identity.
